Well, maybe one of the minor baseball gods. Not a strong enough argument? Joe Beimel also looks a little bit like Gene Ween, which is kind of cool:

This guy is amazing – i’m glad to get a “Don’t drink the beer” lecture in the middle of his Beimel love fest.

ha ha – I’m all about Joe Beimel. I just like his name. 2 seasons ago the Phills played the dodgers during Joe Beimel bobblehead night, and it just struck me as funny – his name, the fact that he had a bobblehead night and I hardly knew who he was. After that I kinda kept paying attention to him – esp when he came to the NL East. A friend in LA (Dodger fan) sent me one of the bobbleheads last year as a joke. I love when random players I like for non-baseball reasons somehow are then involved with the phillies (as the case of Chan Ho last year).
Anyway – troy from WV – just – wow.

I may be wrong but I believe this Dodgers fan is the same one who made numerous videos bashing Philadelphia during the 2008 NLCS. Actually, yes it is 100% the same guy. I think we need to remove this post to make sure he doesn’t get any attention.

Yeah I wanted them to go after Beimel last offseason as well, but he and guys like Darren Oliver are consigned forever to the “decent relievers that can be had fairly cheaply but will be ignored by the Phillies because they somehow think Danys Baez is good” pool of players

howard did get beimel 1 time i think, but most of the time it was three pitches and howard was sittin back on the bench! so it would be good to get him on our side. plus i like his greasy, straggely hair! i think he would be a perfect fit, the new “wild thang!” we need some personality in the pen!
