Lefte Fielder Doth Swink At-Batte: Season Endeth Erelong, Sir!

Raul Ernest Henley

Forsooth!

At 10:35 pm, John R. Finger tweeted that Raul Ibanez had quoted The Bard post-game when asked about his current slump.

Of course you’re frustrated.  You’re frustrated and you’re upset with yourself, but at the same time you gotta keep Grinding, man.  I’m sorry I said “man” (he was talking to Leslie Gudel).  I think it was Shakespeare who said, “My head is bloodied, but unbowed.”

Moments later Ye Olde Wordsmithe Finger had determined that while Raul got the words right, it wasn’t Shakespeare but William Ernest Henley who wrote those words in his poem Invictus, first published in 1875.

While W. E. Henley is roughly the same age as fellow lyricist Don Henley, the two are not related.

Swift, you take that back. Otherwise, you’re getting the Swanton Bomb.

  8. Swift Says:

Jeff Hardy, who was on the cusp of the largest push of his career, and was possibly the most over superstar in the WWE, decided to put all of that on hold to pursue endeavours with his shitty band.

…oh well, his idiocy is CM Punks gain. Looking forward to the Era of Orton and Punk.

  9. doubleh Says:

Is it bad that I am actually surprised that any professional athlete has actually read a book or can quote an author (even if it’s a misquote)?

Oh, and petzrawr: Don’t remind me of Pat the Bat’s favorite little ditty.

  10. Jocksniffer Says:

Am I the only one who thinks (and I saw this coming) that the steroid speculation from that J-Rod @$$fuck has really messed with him mentally?

  11. meech.one Says:

    Fucking J-Rod.

  12. Jocksniffer Says:

Too bad J-Rod was before Lot M.

Did his parents have any children that survived? I bet they regret that.

I think that statement may be Raul’s bid for inclusion into the Jamie Moyer Mile High Wine Club.
