My good feelings about Andersen were cemented when I read the Franzke interview on Phillies Nation.

Specifically:

“I think [LA's] given me a tremendous insight into the city and the people here. He’s adopted Philadelphia as his home too, and he’s got a keen understanding of what our fans want in a team, a broadcaster or whatever. Maybe he knows this from spending so much time on barstools talking to people.

Which leads to the other lesson he’s provided: I can’t outlast him on a barstool.”

@ dash: thats exactly what i love about LA: complete, unbiased and unabashed homer-ism. and more often that not he speaks unvarnished truth with the authority (ie actual pro baseball experience) that tmac and wheels lack. also he invented a game called “ass quarters”.
