Who won the NLCS, Buck? Was it the Yankees, or the Red Sox?

Seriously, this is one of the stranger slips of the tongue ever. Still, it’s amazing the Phillies are now so good they’re being confused with the Yanks and Sox.

Congratulations to the two Phillies fans who got on television last night for their gestures at Manny Ramirez after he struck out in the eighth inning last night. Amazing that the guy giving the middle finger is the calmer one, as the other man appears to be pretending to shoot Man-Ram with a gun made from his hand. (Thanks to Art from Foobooz for noticing this.)

Let’s do this bulletpoint-style, once again:

• Another crowd shot I tremendously enjoyed from last night’s game: The woman with the “I (Heart) Ron Darling and TBS” sign. This is the natural extension of the acrostics spelling out TBS (which are usually pretty bad), and I have to give her credit for at least going all out on it. Really? You love Ron Darling and TBS? Big fan off Bill Engvall, George Lopez, avocados, Tyler Perry and Law & Order: SVU old episodes of Seinfeld? Okay, whatever you say.

• Tommy Lasorda’s predictions of a comeback on his Twitter now seem much less likely. I don’t have any new updates on Tommy Lasorda flip-flopping his choice of touristy cheesesteak haunt today, but it’s fun to get in another dig at the guy.

• Oh, yeah. Some dude also apparently bought a Shane Victorino World Baseball Classic jersey. I hope he got that one at the bargain bin at Modell’s.

• In case you needed it, here’s the audio of Ryan Howard cursing live on TV after the Phillies won last night.

Thoughts? Complaints? Excuses you can use to leave work early on Wednesday?

Of course the Wednesday afternoon game is gonna be a hurt piece, but overall it’s not too bad. Much better than last year’s scheduling debacle.
