Here’s me voting 16 times in 2:25 for Shane while I was over my buddy’s house playing Fight Night Round 4. Everytime I wasn’t boxing, I was doing this. I figure I did it for about an hour and a half total (lucky for you, I didn’t film it all), so doing some quick math, that’s nearly 1,000 votes from yours truly.

Shortly after laying a 4-for-5 spot with a homer, four RBI, and five runs scored on the hapless Reds last night, the man hoping to grab that 33rd and final roster spot on the NL All-Star team gave a ring to Karl Ravech and them over at Baseball Tonight. I missed the beginning of the interview, but luckily I changed channels just in time to catch the obligatory NQA. You don’t get to hear Karl’s groundbreaking question that prompted Shane’s response, but it was something along of lines of did Shane think he would’ve gotten a double on the fair ball that the ballgirl interfered with. Then Ravech tried to clarify that Shane actually meant “no doubt about it” when he said NQA. No shit, buddy. Don’t try to translate him for us, okay Karl?

DB: If the NL East were settled by a surfing contest instead of baseball, could you carry the Phillies?

SV: Oh, no questions asked. [Ed Note: BINGO!] I don’t know how to surf; I’ll figure it out, though.

DB: You don’t surf?

SV: I got some ocean behind me but surfing, nah, I don’t surf.

DB: How come you’ve never been on a board?

SV: Because I play my sports on land.

Marcus Giles: I surf and rarely wear underwear.

DB: (Nice “Stripes” reference) Is that a fact, Jack? But you’re not from Hawaii.

MG: I’m from San Diego!

SV: (Simultaneously) He’s from San Diego. Next closest thing to surfing in Hawaii.

DB: When are you going to run into a fence face-first like Aaron Rowand?

SV: When? Opening day, if I have to.

I fucking love this guy.
