I’d like to think of myself as a fairly level-headed Phillies fan.  I completely understand that there is always the possibility of a team like the Toronto Blue Jays heading into The Bank and pulling off the unexpected sweep — this type of thing just happens during a 162-game season.  Does it hurt worse because former Phillies Scott Rolen and Rod Barajas were instrumental contributors to that sweep?  Of course it does.

But do you wanna know what’s even worse than that?  When your team is just flat-out lazy.

Case in point: Joe Blanton walks Marco Scutaro to start the third inning.  While jogging to first, the Blue Jays leadoff man notices Jimmy Rollins and Chase Utley yukking it up in the field.  Realizing the middle of the Phillies infield is too engrossed in conversation to actually make a play at second, Scutaro strolls right past first base and darts to second before Jimmy and Chase could finish their discussion.  Have a look-see:
