Just try for a second to ignore that this is a giant walking “my face when” pic.

Tom McCarthy makes a lot of mistakes during his duties as Phillies commentator. He makes so many mistakes He has a huffing game based off his antics. During last night’s game, Phillies cameras panned around the ballpark to look for Phillies-related signs as they usually do. Since as the commercial says, Florida looks a lot like Philadelphia, there were more Phillies signs out and about than usual. Most signs were of typical fare, “I ♥ MY PHILLIES!” or “CHASE UTLEY IS HOT”. One fan however, decided to bring a sign pointing out a mistake T-Mac made when he apparently called Father’s Day, “The 4th Of July”.

T-Mac’s subsequent reaction to seeing this sign couldn’t be any more horrifying:

If I could find a way to edit in him evilly stroking a white cat, I would.

Future superstar for the Florida Marlins Mike Stanton took a nice tumble while chasing a foul ball off the bat of Ben Francisco in the 7th inning of tonight’s game. As you can clearly tell from the screencap above, Stanton was concentrating so hard on following the track of the ball that he must have forgot all about the gate/wall thingy they have setup at the Marlins stadium to separate the playing field from the bullpen.

The result was Stanton crashing into the mini-wall in right, flipping over it head-first, and missing the catch. He wound up staying in the game and to the best of my knowledge is injury-free from the play, so it’s okay for all of us to laugh at it now.

The .gif is tucked away underneath the jump, fella.

From Tuesday night:

After David Herndon failed to cover the bag on a great defensive play by Ryan Howard which allowed Kelly Johnson to get an infield single, Hern dawg walked back to the mound a-spittin’ and a-cussin’:

From Todd Zolecki:

Jimmy Rollins, on slapping home plate with his left hand as he slid past Yorvit Torrealba to score the winning run in the 12th inning in a 3-2 victory over the Padres at Petco Park: “It was quick. It was my Karate Kid fly catcher.”

Said Charlie of the slide: “Youuuuu beginna luck.”

T-Mac's Sarge Walk

T-Mac claims to have been “imitating the Phanatic” when they juxtaposed Sarge’s walk with T-Mac’s exaggerated lumbering in the 4th inning of Saturday’s loss to the Marlins, but it sounds to me like some verbal backpedaling to avoid some very painful revenge-titty-twisters.

You know me… remixed version, after the jump:

Ever since my SCATHING critique of Carlos Ruiz a couple weeks ago, the Panamanian catcher and master of calling games has simply been on fiyah! at the plate. Up until the 12th of May, Chooch was batting a humiliating .161 with ZERO home runs, ZERO runs batted in, and ZERO runs scored. Since then? How about .389 with a .500 OBP, one homer, three runs scored and eight RBI. Now that’s the Chooch we know and love!

Oh yeah, and he’s also starting to throw runners out on the base paths regularly again. Such an occurrence from Sunday actually prompted my favorite 3-second clip of the young season:

Many thanks to .gif master Tug Haines from Long Drive for the animation assist.

His much funnier ice cream remixed version can be found ATJ.
