After winning the World Series last Wednesday, the Phillies were quite eager to hit the town and celebrate with their teammates.   And according to a photo of Brett Myers posing with Philadelphia’s finest that a thoughtful reader sent in to Deadspin yesterday, it looked as though the party spot was the Academy House condos on 14th & Locust, right off of Broad St.

Now I can offer further proof, as The Fightins dot com commenter MikeY sent some choice camera phone shots from inside the party, with a couple bonus pics of Officer Brett Myers on duty outside the get-together.

Not long after the Phillies won their 2nd ever World Series title last Wednesday, following Jamie Moyer’s excavation of the pitcher’s mound from the infield dirt; the spot that was once occupied by the rubber turned into a receptacle of sorts for the celebratory empties:

From TMZ — your #1 source for shirtless Matthew McConaughey pics! — comes this completely embarrassing video of a couple asshole Dodger fans chucking full cups of beer on the LAPD the other night. Now I know Philly gets a bad rep from a few questionable decisions our fans may or may not have made in the past, but this clip from Chavez Ravine fucking blows away any faux pas ever committed here.

Hmmmm, let’s see, throwing snowballs at a 180 lb. intoxicated Santa Claus in 1968, or pummeling cops with beer in 2008…

I can’t decide.

Brett Myers seems to really be enjoying himself during these clubhouse celebrations.

Although the Phillies were supposedly a bit more low-key in their revelry compared to the NL East clincher, you certainly wouldn’t be able to tell from this clip…

While being interviewed by CBS 3’s Don Bell, Myers popped the top on two cans of Bud Light and gave himself a beer bath ala Stone Cold Steve Austin. The always observant Bell noticed that Myers was pretty good at it, to which Brett replied, “I watch a lot of wrestling.”

Cole Hamels was wonderful last night [nh], limiting the Padres to one run over eight strong to earn his first victory in 45 days. Perhaps it was the fact that the Padres are the worst team in the majors, but I think he was just trying to impress his parents.

Gary and Amanda Hamels, who reside in Sandy Eggo, had some primo seats to catch a glimpse of their son. When King Cole got out of the seventh by inducing an inning-ending double play, the cameras panned to the proud parents and Gary was downing a celebratory Miller Lite:

Good job, Mr. H. Besides the fact that you’re not allowed to drink beer on national TV, Cole’s pop looks like the type that grabs 3 Miller Lites at the concession stand just before they cut off beer sales in the middle of the 7th. Hey – he’s just like me!
