There are many perks that come with being a World Series champion.  But there’s only one fits on your finger and comes encrusted with thousands of dollars worth of diamonds.  To the victors go the spoils:

…they are the flyest mutherfuckers with a trophy and a tux.

As you can see, the World Fucking Champion Philadelphia Phillies were fitted for tuxes and corralled into the center of Bright House Field in Clearwater yesterday to shoot the cover for 2009’s first issue of Phillies Magazine.  All 23 remaining Phillies from 2008 were there; minus only Pat Burrell and So Taguchi.

The only cameras allowed on the field during this secretive shoot were those belonging to Philles.com (even though The Inquirer got some good shots from the locker room and a couple on the field), but thanks to the good ol’ “Print Screen” function on my computer, I was able to grab some stills from the video on the team’s site.

Check ‘em out, after the jump…

After winning the World Series last Wednesday, the Phillies were quite eager to hit the town and celebrate with their teammates.   And according to a photo of Brett Myers posing with Philadelphia’s finest that a thoughtful reader sent in to Deadspin yesterday, it looked as though the party spot was the Academy House condos on 14th & Locust, right off of Broad St.

Now I can offer further proof, as The Fightins dot com commenter MikeY sent some choice camera phone shots from inside the party, with a couple bonus pics of Officer Brett Myers on duty outside the get-together.

Here’s a sneak peek:

For the rest, you’re gonna have to follow the jump…

Being that it’s pretty much a foregone conclusion that Pat Burrell will not return to the Phillies next year, this afternoon might have been the last time we see him as a member of the Fightins’.

Sad, I know, but at least The Bat went out on top:  A World Champion whose double in the eighth inning wound up being the winning run scored in Game 5.

And during the parade today, Mr. Burrell, his lovely wife Michelle, and dog Elvis were the leads in the parade, seated in a Budweiser carriage powered by eight Clydesdales.   Not a bad way to go out:

After the jump, some more shots of Pat & family from the parade:

Commenter Ryan passes along his differently-angled video of that fella who climbed atop a street light and got thwacked in the head with a Grey Goose bottle.  Unsurprisingly, it still looks like it hurt pretty bad.

Here is the disturbing video of the absolute worst act committed during the Phillies celebration last night.

The popular Broad St. luggage joint, Robinson’s, became the unlikely target of a pack of riotous hoodlums last night after the Phillies World Series victory. The delinquents converged on the baggage company’s store, kicked in the glass doors, and had free reign in the shop — tossing everything they could get their hands on out the door and into the awaiting arms those standing outside. Most of the stolen goods wound up either being destroyed or set on fire in the middle of Broad St.

Definitely a pathetic scene. Check out the cringe-worthy evidence:

First off, let me say that Kevin Kaduk of Big League Stew is a great, great human being. He was in Philly for the World Series, Yahoo! gave him a press pass, and he asked Shane Victorino to utter a simple phrase.

I think you know which one I’m talking about…

I’m pretty sure that one was for all of you guys.

Thanks to Shane for being Shane, thanks to ‘Duk for having the balls to ask him to say that, but most importantly — thanks to the readers and Phillies fans that make writing for a Phillies blog so rewarding and so much god damn fun.

No questions asked.

If you don’t personally thank ‘Duk in the comments at Yahoo!, I’ll take it as an insult.

At three o’clock this afternoon, the Phillies will give away a mere 112,000 tickets to enter either Citizens Bank Park or Lincoln Financial Field for the conclusion of tomorrow’s parade.

By way of the honorable Mayor Michael Nutter, Fox29 has the info:

The Phillies will give out free tickets to both stadiums on the Internet only, at 3 p.m. ET, on the Phillies official Web site at www.phillies.com.

The parade will start at 12 noon at 20th and Market Streets and end at the Complex.

People can stand and watch the parade at any point on the route to the Sports Complex.

Fox 29 has learned that part of the parade in Center City will include a ticker-tape parade, before the celebration heads south on Broad Street.

Mayor Michael Nutter also says the city has dozens of sponsors to underwrite the parade, and the Eagles have donated the use of the Linc for the parade.

Gates will open at 10 a.m. for free ticket holders at the two stadiums.

YO!  GO HERE NOW! Thank Beale later.
