I cannot believe how absolutely boring the Home-Run Derby as become.

A few things.

1) Albert Poo-Joels is not the best Power-Hitter in Baseball, despite the royal fellating he recieved from ESPN last night.
2) Listening to Joe Morgan and Chris Berman for three hours is enough to make you grab the nearest object, and stab it into your ears to make the pain stop.
3) Prince Fielder has got some Pop, but we already knew that.
4) Who the hell is Nelson Cruz?
5) Why the hell was Brandon Inge in the Derby?
6) What’re those “TB” hats people were wearing last night, is that a Minor League Team somewhere?
7) Where was Junior Griffey? This is probably his last year? Why not invite the most winning contestant in Derby history back, for what would probably be his last?

I think that’s about it.

Did anyone else find it interesting that McGwire wasn’t mentioned in the Cardinals tribute video? Not surprised, but definitely interesting. And I really would have liked to see Prince Fielder’s 500 lbs of meat comically spin around like a top after each swing of the bat. Oh, he did that.

@Gaze: the best part of the whole night was Berman declaring his-self Queen of the Derby and granting a homerun gift on Pujols.

Oh they really were blowing Pujols hard last night. Every one he hit I thought was crushed off the arch because of the camera and the announcers. Check out why the Derby is stupid it at the site.

Everytime Pujols put the ball in the air:
1) the camera zoomed toward the sky as if the moon was in danger of being struck
2) Berman and Morgan made a mess in their pants
3) the ball landed 2 rows deep in the outfield.

One of his homeruns WOULD NEVER HAVE COUNTED in a game because a fan leaned over the wall and caught it about a foot short. Naturally, there were no replays.

Joe Morgan: Pujols gets over the top of pitches..that’s just how he hits. When the ball is up in the zone he has a tendency to get over top of them (Pujols swings at one). You see, right there.

Aside from the derby being overly long and drawn out, Berman and Morgan are unbearable. I can’t believe I watched this whole thing.
