I love LA’s emotion and love for the phillies every game he calls….he was legitimately speechless here….awesome
October 14th, 2008 at 8:40 am
LA was either speechless or choking.

God I wish that was Harry calling it. I like Franzke but, I can’t imagine what Harry’s call would of sounded like

so is that what a professional hitter does?
October 14th, 2008 at 11:53 am
Where is Harry anyways? Is comcast doing TV coverage for the series?
October 14th, 2008 at 11:54 am
I think I heard Wheels screaming in the background. Truly awesome man.

Nah Gonzo, that was LA screaming and wildin’ out…
I dunno what the deal is with Harry… it seems that he is calling the games less and less with every passing week =(. I know him and Wheeler can’t be in the same room together… but lately he’s not even there when Wheels isn’t around….

Larry musta been sippin on something just as that ball was hit.
oh! git! *cough* burk!
god bless Larry (I will not use the phrase “LA” till this series is over)

@ Mike:
Harry does innings 1-3 and 7-9 on TV and innings 4-6 on the radio during the regular season.
During the playoffs, with him not being on TV, I think he’s doing innings 3-7 on the Radio with Franzke and LA doing innings 1, 2, 8 and 9.

I started reading this blog this year, and didn’t know you had the clip with LA and Franzke. This is truly awesome. I can’t wait to have kids, and then have them be 19 and not see a winner their whole life, and I can be like, “When that fat Canadian Bacon hit that ball, my life changed. For the first time in my life I thought, we have this-we’re going to actually win a title…. I’m speechless…”

” I can’t wait to have kids, and then have them be 19 and not see a winner their whole life…”
I think that might qualify for pre-parental cruelty, wishing that on your yet-to-be-born kids.

Scott, when can you move to CSN and get rid of McCarthy?
August 18th, 2009 at 3:37 pm
It was more based on empirical records of championships in this city, not so much as “I wish the teams don’t win” senario. Loosely based on my dad bringing up the 1980 team anytime something good was happening to the Phillies. I’m just glad I don’t have to hear about that all the time now.

Thanks for bumping this again.
Bump.
