The Second Most Important World Series Prediction Ever
Posted by meech.one at 7:02 pm ET 34 Comments

I had a good 80% of my hard-hitting prediction post written up this morning and alls I wanted to do was edit it a bit and write my last paragraph before publishing around lunch time this afternoon. And then the server crashed and my post got erased. I was fucking pissed at first, afterall I had some good stuff in there that woulda blew your fucking mind. I swear. But I don’t have time to re-write it and I can’t head out to watch the game tonight before publishing a prediction, so here goes:

The Philadelphia Phillies will win the World Series fairly easily, splitting the two games in the Bronx and winning all three here at The Bank. The biggest blow to the Yankees pride coming in Game 4 when Mariano Rivera blows a save that would’ve tied the series up at two games apiece. Instead, the Phillies go into Monday night up three games to one and close it out in front of the loudest cot damn crowd you will ever hear in your entire life. At least that’s what I think.

PHILLIES IN FIVE

*Last year was thee most important ever

    Here, here, good sir!

  3. shipsass Says:

Don’t forget Lidge goes six for six through the playoffs.

  4. essman Says:

This is way more important than last year’s prediction. This one says the Phillies are a team of historical importance.

  5. Swift5648 Says:

Phils in Five… I’m going to have to go back and check my prediction from just before the start of the Playoffs, but I think that’s what I’ve gone with this whole way. I had ROX in Four, Dodgers in Five, Yanks in Five, and also predicted that Brad Lidge would be perfect, and RyHo would take the MVP in the NLCS and WS. So far, I’m pretty good. Hopefully, it continues to trend, and if it does… Hallelujah!

Just because I love to mock the national media: Remember back in early October when all the national sports media folks were talking about how only a Dodgers/Yankees World Series could be good for baseball? Now how many articles have a seen from the same sources saying that Phillies/Yankees are the two best teams, will be one of the all-time great WS, etc?

I realize it’s their job to hype the series, but it’s a little patronizing that two weeks ago the Phillies were a boring team nobody outside of the tri-state area would care about and now we’re one of the two best teams in baseball.

  8. RR Says:

Holy Fucking Shit. Who are these two goons on Fox 29? Is this really the best Philadelphia could come up with to put live on the air from Yankee Stadium. Philly should be embarassed. AaaaaaHahahaha………

  9. RR Says:

Cross, you got cut off. Allow me….
    “ay.”

  10. MoyerIsMyHero Says:

What is the MLB product that allows me to listen to the local radio broadcaster’s play-by-play?

  11. dlhunter Says:

    mlb.tv

  12. MoyerIsMyHero Says:

Okay, I thought so, but then it looked like that was video and such.

  13. MoyerIsMyHero Says:

So the postseason.tv does not have the local audio?

  14. Swift5648 Says:

I really love how Rueben Amaro Jr. constantly pushes off all claim, and responsibility for Clifton, and Pedro onto his scouts. He’s just awesome, even though he knows we all love him, he never once took full responsibility for it.

  15. dlhunter Says:

Postseason.tv only gives you some (mostly boring) video feeds and the TV audio feed (no on screen graphics or anything).

mlb.tv is just in-game audio for the US and in-game video highlights, plus the full video to watch 90 minutes after the game ends.

  16. OutlawPete Says:

we’re not getting a live game blog are we….

  17. jupiter's rings Says:

    live blog tonight?

  18. Brandon Says:

    20 minutes.

  19. MoyerIsMyHero Says:

So they are charging $19.95 just for the World Series mlb.tv package? That seems steep, I thought someone said it was down to 9.95 for the postseason?

  20. Swift5648 Says:

    Liveblog? Are we?

  21. Brandon Says:

OZZIE!! Fox is going to fire him now because he picked the phils

  22. ThinkRed Says:

I wish I could pass out for 25 minutes or so and wake up to the game starting.

  23. maria Says:

There’s a live blog over at The700level but there’s always a lot people.

  24. dlhunter Says:

    Click on my name.

  25. dlhunter Says:

    Sorry, don’t really do that.

I just wanted people to hear “God is dead” read to them in German when they’re all excited for the World Series.

    I’m like that.

  29. bigmyc Says:

    Well, I like it.

When’s the Parade and is it gonna be BYOB again?

  30. Nick Says:

Fuck yeah, great start by Cliff.

Hope this WS isnt a AVG with RISP disaster like last years…

  31. Mr. Bryan Says:

Cliff is cruisin. This Yankee crowd is pathetic. We are NUTS when we have two strikes on a batter, these stiffs sit there in silence.

  32. Clifton Phifer Lee Says:

Hey, thanks for all the positive feedback guys. Did you see that trickery by Jimmy to turn the double play? I loved that. I wish these guys with the bats would start having some damn patience and give me some run support though. LOL

  33. Brandon Says:

I can’t post on the live blog anymore. Not working for me

  34. lovemesomewerth Says:

Anyone going to the game tomorrow? I will be there and need some more Philly support!
