The Laziest Post In Blogging: Site News!

I’m well aware that all of you guys have been concerned about the lack of production here last week by the onslaught of e-mails I received asking if everything was okay (actual e-mail count = zero), but don’t worry fair readers, all is well. For the past 6 days or so, I’ve been trying to take care of a minor fender bender, pen the ultimate best man speech, enjoy meself some Thanksgiving (my favorite holiday), attend the wedding of my best friend for 25 years, and literally drown myself in Heineken & Crown Royal. Hopefully, by midday today, this well-oiled machine will be back up-and-running as usual. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Until then, I’ll leave you with a couple links…

  • PhillyBurbs is in the midst of a tenth anniversary celebration (I sent them a homemade tin foil bowl as a gift), and listed their Top 10 most awesomest Philadelphia websites. We here at The Fightins dot com are honored to have made their list. Thank you, kind sirs. [PhillyBurbs]
  • The Phunyun returns from their one month (unexcused) hiatus with a mutherfucking vengeance. They were the first site to get a hold of Charlie Manuel’s Christmas album aptly-named, “Christmas came two months early…” It looks like it’ll wind up being this year’s must-have Holiday CD (much like Billy Idol’s last year) featuring a myriad of special musical guests including Sir Elton John, the Vienna Boys Choir, Fox’s John Bolaris, Eryka Badu, as well as Daryl Hall and John Oates. Go there this instant, it’s truly brilliant stuff. [The Phunyun]
  • Antonio Alfonseca is playing baseball again! I think! Actually, there was an article with in name in it, but it was written in Spanish. So, if any of you multi-lingual ducds out there could translate this, I’d be extremely appreciative. [Listin Diaro]

ESTRELLAS - Los lanzadores Antonio Alfonseca y Lorenzo Barcelo fueron las primeras víctimas de los recortes de las Estrellas Orientales, debido a la pobre actuación del equipo en el campeonato invernal dominicano…

And finally, although it has nothing to do with baseball, this clip of a guy reacting to the closing of a Philadelphia library is a late entry for YouTube of the year. Enjoy:

Google translation of the Alfonseca article:

STARS .- The pitchers Antonio Alfonseca and Lorenzo Barcelo were the first victims of cuts in the Oriental Star, due to the poor performance of the team in the Dominican winter championship … It was learned that Alfonseca was lost due to low performance and because it gets very costly to all green and was rumored in San Pedro de Macoris that another group of six players are on a list to be licensed in the next few hours … Until that happens, the Stars still from bad to worse last night and began to gain the Licey Tigers in the Quisqueya stadium, and at the height of the fifth inning were losing … Robinson Canó trained yesterday in Tetela Vargas and announced in an interview yesterday to enter a game with the team but when this occurs they are already disqualified Paul …
