The Laziest Post In Blogging: Brett and Shane Edition

It’s pretty early here in Philadelphia. My eyes are still bloodshot, my head hurts, and my stomach doesn’t seem to be agreeing this bacon, egg, & cheese on a longroll that I just devoured. But still, in my cloudy mindstate, I can say that Brett Myers’ 2nd inning at-bat followed by Shane Victorino’s Grand Slam two batters later may have been the greatest collective moment of a Philadelphia sporting event that I’ve ever witnessed in person.
So, in honor of Brett and Shane, here are a fine collection of links to celebrate…
- Enrico The Great from The 700 Level was at the game as well just a few sections over from yours truly, and he was keen enough to shoot video of the Brett Myers AB. This, ladies and gents, is the must-see video of the year. [The 700 Level]
- Myers’ night at the dish in video form. [Phillies.com]
- Shane Victorino took to his MLBlog last night after his incredibly incredible performance, “When I first hit that ball, I said I have to get going. When I was running I looked at Ryan Braun and he stopped, and I thought, did that really just happen?” Yes, Shane, it happened. [Shane Victorino's Postseason Blog]
- Over on Crashburn Alley, Bill Baer breaks down Brett’s two at-bats vs. Sabathia. In two plate appearances, he saw 19 pitches, drew a walk, and flew out to Mike Cameron. Huh, it doesn’t seem so special when you put it like that. [Crashburn Alley]
- If you’re in the market for new desktop wallpaper, I have a recommendation:
- Per Todd Zolecki’s Phillies Zone, Brett Myers wondered aloud after the game, “Did I pitch tonight?” Ahhh, yes Brett, we almost forgot how good you were on the hill. [Phillies Zone]
- And finally, Brett talks about his plate approach. He says, “I wasn’t trying to be a hero in that situation.” FAIL?

Vic’s grand slam hit my section, and I already rank it with one of the best sports moments I’ve ever been to live. That place was crazy last night.

I could make that my background, but I’ll have to splice in Ludivine Sagnier’s picture somewhere in the crowd.
