Phillies commercial thanks fans; features Birdland t-shirt

There’s a new commercial that’s playing during the Phillies games thanking the Philadelphia Phillies fans for being the bestest fans that we can be when cheering for our soon-to-be 2009 NL East Champion squadron. It features Chase Utley *swoon*, Ryan Howard, Pedro Martinez, and Shane Victorino stroking our ego telling us how great we are and shit (which we most certainly are), then around the :15 second mark, you see a rather enthusiastic gentleman wearing an extra-medium Birdland franchise tee.   Yay Phillies fans!

If yoooou want to be the ultimate Phillies fan and wear your very own Birdland x The Fightins t-shirt to The Bank in hopes of maybe starring in a commercial yourself, why don’t you mosey on over to the shoppe, cowboy, and do some shopping.  There’s probably a few new shirts since the last time you were there, we even got some fresh Eagles joints for Sundays.  And word on the street is that the Birdland sweatshop has their Honduran relatives hard at work on some NL East Champ gear and maybe even some discounted gear proclaiming our hatred to whatever team we face.  You know, cause that might only be relevant for a couple weeks, so we won’t even bother charging full price.

    And to think I got those tickets from a friend that night and had to drive back to ct on 4 hours sleep that night.

    CBP has been nuts this year, even moreso than last. It’s like a playoff atmosphere every home game. Must be nice for the players.

    Saw the “Jimmy&Chase&Ryan&Cole” on the commercial last night and laughed. Knew I’d be seeing it on a post here soon enough. I bought the girlfriend one of those awhile back as well as the Eagles version to go along with my Flyers version. She loved them (wink wink). She also got a TON of compliments on the Eagles version during last week’s tailgate prior to the Chiefs game (mad props to the old school Buddy Ryan D, even though I’m not especially an Iggles fan).

    Unfortunately i’ve had to explain the Flyers version to far too many people who don’t understand that some of this city’s professional athletes don’t speak English as their first language…

    I’ve definitely got to get around to ordering one of those shirts, but I’m having trouble choosing one.

    I’m kind of sad you guys didn’t start making these back before the 2008 postseason, when people liked Jamie Moyer – I would have loved an Ageless Wonder shirt.
