According to the new issue of Men’s Fitness, Chase Utley is one of the top 25 Fittest Men in America. The chiseled-writers over there had this to say:
Chase Utley, 29 – The Batsman
Utley, the Philadelphia Phillies’ second baseman, is one of the most consistent hitters in the National League. And he’s still working to get better. After helping the Phillies rally from seven games back in September to win the NL East, he barely took any time off. “That was the shortest off-season so far in my career,” Utley says. “My downtime was about three and a half weeks just to let my body recuperate.” The California native mostly fuels up with fruits, veggies, and chicken, working out to enhance the power and quickness that led to his .332 batting average, 22 home runs, and 103 RBIs in 2007.
Holy shit, I just realized he’s only 6 homers away from topping last year’s total. It almost makes me wanna start eating fruits and “veggies.”
Almost.
After the jump, video of Utley’s workout routine (for the ladies, of course)

Also on ESPN.com, Tristan H. Cockcroft (a fantasy baseball expert) put together an all-2012 team and had this to say about Chase:
Second base: Chase Utley (33). He simply keeps getting better, doesn’t he? Sure, he’ll be 33 in 2012, but that’d represent only his eighth full season in the majors, which is too short a time frame before expecting a career decline. There’s no reason Utley’s prime can’t extend that far, and I’ll go a step further and say that by then, he’s being talked up as potentially the greatest second baseman of all-time.
We are in the presence of Greatness here people…but I’m sure we all knew this already.

“for the ladies” = “for Clare”

Clare, I was hoping the young lady I wrote about yesterday would join The Fightins’ readership.
Wishful thinking, I guess.

Thanks, enjoyed the pelvic thrusts! He needs to do yoga. I would pay money to watch Chase Utley do yoga.
Sorry I’m the wrong young lady, but I’m enjoying the blog so far.
