Jayson Werth watches the UFC fight. No, the one in the stands.
Posted by meech.one at 10:52 am ET 17 Comments

Here we have Phillies right fielder Jayson Werth in attendance at UFC 101 checking out the fight in the stands in-between fights in the Octagon as seen through the camera lens of Opie from The Opie & Anthony Show.

Now, Jayson Werth is a freakin’ professional so I’m sure his late night out for the big Ultimate Fighting pay-per-view had nothing to do with his day-off yesterday against a tough righty, but there is a strong possibility that it had something to do with the way he half-assedly tried to field Chris Coghlan’s single in the 7th inning.

HOLD HIM BACK, JULIA WERTH!

Wow, a night of beer and hypermasculitinty produced that? What a surprise. I think it looks like every one on the team should be involved in a fight, except Bako. It’s quite obvious he can’t even take a hit from a skinny little guy who ran some 300 feet to knock him almost over.

  2. Tug Haines Says:

Have you ever been hit by somebody with a 300-ft. head start? Let alone a professional athlete with above-average speed?

    Who’s the blonde?

  3. Chris Cocklan Says:

Why am I involve with MR. Werth? All I did was get a single. Hi Julia!!!

  4. Gaze Says:

I’m sure a fight has never broken out at a UFC event before. Surely, Philadelphia must be the only town to ever consume alcohol and rumble while watching a blood sport.

  5. Watrick Says:

I like the 8 year old kid with demon eyes. He’s going to be the next big UFC douchebag, I know it. He just needs to start on that diet of donuts and become 400 pounds, and then claim it’s “muscle” when he’s at the bar.

  6. Dutch Dalton's Brain Says:

who brings there chick to a ufc fight.

  7. photographer N Says:

Well, this explains a lot about Werth’s drunken performance in centerfield after Victorino’s jnjust ejection. Ricky Otero could have made some of those plays. Hell, I could have made some of those plays! (But I was too busy taking pictures.)

  8. Ant Says:

Did he even go to the Phillies game that day?

  9. Scott Says:

Werth owes the fans an apology for yesterday.

  10. Swift Says:

Hamels owes the fans an apology for this season.

  11. WB-Tony Says:

If we wanna go there, short of a small number, everyone on this team owes us an apology.

  12. CFry Says:

I’m surprised Opie even knew who Werth was…chances are he read the starting lineup on a placemat. FRRRRRRUNKIS!

    (boo)

  13. martygphilly Says:

Werth is still a douche. This is the only way Opie got a pic cuz Werth wouldn’t take a pic w/ anyone. He needs to remember who really pays him.

  14. pollock Says:

Is that E-Rock’s twittering update in Dutch Daltons Brain? There or They’re or Their. Which is it? Nice typing douche

  15. someone Says:

It wasn’t in between fights, use your eyes story writer.

  16. GenericFanGroup Says:

Opie (@Opieradio on Twitter) commented on his pic being picked up on this site “My Jason Werth pic got picked up here: http://bit.ly/mJCv0” Very cool to see two of my favorite things O&A and the Phillies mixing together.

  17. Whole Camels Says:

    :sigh:
