In August 2009, two pairs of seats from Veterans Stadium were installed at 45º angles at Harry's grave. That way, four people can sit among Harry in the way they have become so accustomed. I posted a picture of Harry's grave with the seats installed on the Wikipedia article for Harry.

thanks, meechy.

if you're interested in this sort of thing, HK's grave is just a few down from frank furness, probably philly's most famous architect and a decorated civil war veteran - his headstone is surprisingly humble considering how exuberant his designs were. also, general george meade is on the hill just above HK, right along the pathway that leads down to his section.

if you stop in the office near the entrance of the cemetery, they'll give you a map that shows his plot.

...oh for those of you weren't able to read the article in the Courier Times, the Kalas family is having a six foot stone memorial built, in the shape of a Microphone.

I read about this in an article in the Courier Times, was a good read.

For another good read, I really do have to recommend the book "Remebering Harry Kalas" that's available for $10 at WaWa's throughout the area. Some amazing stories are told in that book. I've read about a quarter of it so far. It tugs at your heart when you read it, especially when you read Larry Andersen's story about Harry, and the 1993 team.

That's the saddest thing I've seen today.

I've been to Harry Caray's grave, though. Poured out a can of Old Style and left a half-eaten Billy Goat cheeseburger there.
