Earlier this season, the Atlanta Braves introduced the Turner Field faithful (is there such a thing?) to a humongous, 40-foot, 15,000 lb., Chick-Fil-A sponsored motorized cow. This made the Braves the uncontested juggernaut in the heated, “Who has the biggest fake cow at their stadium” competition that has been brewing league-wide this season.
Well, guess who just threw their oversized red hat into the ring? That’s right…
Not to be outdone, the Phillies have teamed up with local dairy moguls, Turkey Hill, and placed a giant cow of their own (her name is Bo) just outside Citizens Bank Park. Now this one doesn’t do an animatronic racist chop like the cow in Atlanta, but it is red and swirly.
Advantage: Phillies

Well, I haven’t seen the Turkey Hill cow in person, so I can’t really comment on it, but I do know that besides pitching, you have to have consistency from your giant fake cow if you want to succeed in this league. But there are no truly great giant fake cows in today’s game. It’s not like when I played and we had our Big Red Fake Cow Machine driven by a truly clutch guy like Tony Perez.

And I, for one, welcome our new Bovine overlords. I’d like to remind them that as a trusted TV personality, I could be helpful in rounding up others to toil in their milking process.

alas, Robert has had something better to do than watch Fox every sunday @ 8 pm for the past 19 years. You should ask Marvin, the paranoid android to TiVo it for you.

Or maybe the Phils are a bunch of Posers…Sit on that egg for a bit

Sit on that egg for a bit
Oh, you Braves fans and your colorful colloquialisms!
June 30th, 2008 at 4:23 pm
…Couldn’t help but notice that the Philly cow is standing there, ‘waiting’; while the Bravos (bull) cow is upright, standing at attention…
June 30th, 2008 at 4:32 pm
It’s a good thing that cow doesn’t go on the road with the Braves, or it too might get slaughtered.

James,
“Look at my striped shirt! Fucking look at it!”
June 30th, 2008 at 4:43 pm
NICE!!!! Maybe we can ship all that to Brett Myers and he can show us how to serve up fat meatballs over the plate…OOOO I’LL TAKE SECONDS!!!!!
June 30th, 2008 at 4:44 pm
Easy there, fella — you’re going to strain something!
June 30th, 2008 at 4:49 pm
Maybe you should relay that message onto your boy Ryan Howard….He’s been giving us such nice breezes here I don’t even need AC
June 30th, 2008 at 4:53 pm
Jones heading to the DL just before the series against Philly. Ouch, babe. Hey, I’m sure the Braves will be just fine.
Well, at least you still have the cow.
June 30th, 2008 at 4:54 pm
I could be wrong, but didn’t we sweep that redneck team at thier place already this year? Braves fans, go make out with your sister, who probably resembles that giant cow.
June 30th, 2008 at 4:59 pm
…although it could be tough with all these aces the Phils have on the mound this week…yeah make that 7-12
June 30th, 2008 at 5:00 pm
BigTom this is for big boys…go back to wanking it to your poster of Utley and Rollins 69in each other
June 30th, 2008 at 5:02 pm
What would posses an inbred like a Braves fan come on to our territory? Must be mad cow or something…
June 30th, 2008 at 5:06 pm
You may not have Brett Myers to kick around on Thursday. And you’d better beat up on the starters, because the bullpen won’t make it easier on a lineup missing your best (if not the league’s best) hitter.

“go back to wanking it to your poster of Utley and Rollins 69in each other”
You’re just jealous that they are the National League’s premier DP combination!
June 30th, 2008 at 5:38 pm
after the Andruw Jones era it seems strange to me that anyone would bat an eye at the Braves having an evil fat cow in their outfield
June 30th, 2008 at 5:54 pm
great, I go away for a couple days and both of Atlanta’s fans have started trolling our fun little message board…kudos to these guys defeating stereotypes though, they at least know how to read and write. What a shitty sports city…hawks, braves, falcons - no wonder you come to our site to play, there isn’t anyone to host a website in that humid stinkpot of a city.

For the record, Chamo’s Paul Bunyan on shrooms comment was so incredible - I’m pissed I didn’t consult with him prior to posting this.
But GPC wins.

just going to throw this out there turkey hill has taken a giant cow many places in the philly area before. It would make an annual stop in millersville for a week, it was also in willow grove earlier this year for the opening of a new supermarket. I am also pretty sure I have seen it down at the stadiums before. so actually I think the idea stealing is actually reverse. I also love tghe shrooms comment

Yes, the Turkey Hill cow was at the playoffs last year (many, many months before Atlanta installed that large semi-literate cow). If I remember correctly, and I think I do, the Braves were not at the playoffs last year.
