Dom Brown continues to mash minor league pitching

Trying to build off of his impressive minor league debut yesterday where he went 2-for-4 with a mammoth home run, Domonic Brown (wearing jersey #4 this time around in Clearwater) continued his assault on Single-A pitching by producing a similar stat line tonight.

After flying out to CF in his first at-bat of the game this evening, Dom hit another homer — this time a 3-run shot — in the 3rd inning to put the Threshers up 5-2 and give them the lead for good. Dom followed that up with an intentional walk in the 4th (on a rehab assignment?!??), a single in the 6th, and a foul out to 3B in the 8th.

He is now tied for second on the Threshers in home runs with two.

The good news is, Dom feels “almost at 100%” and is back to feasting on MiLB pitching, but then again, it *is* MiLB pitching. So don’t accuse me of getting too excited about what he’s doing down there (after all, that’s what he’s supposed to do) but at least he’s getting healthier and is off to a hot start to erase that horrendous 0-for he put up in the Spring. Just saying, if he started out 1-for-8 with six K’s, most of you knuckleheads would declare him a bust already.

Keep on mashing, Dom. The Phillies are gonna need you.

That stare-and-nonchalant-bat-drop Dom’s got going on looks a whole lot better than Werf’s one-knee-on-the-ground-and-facing-third look. Said.

See, what worries me about that home run glance is that it says to me, “Oh, did I do that?”

Did you just call Dom Brown Urkel?

If Dom Brown was Urkel, he’d definitely be Stephen (pronounced SteFFON), Urkel’s smooth alter ego.
