Take a gander at this Pulitzer Prize-worthy photography from architecture connoisseur and occasional contributor of The Fightins, beelove of PhillySkyline fame. After fouling off a pitch against Phillies reliever Chad Durbin on Tuesday night, Dan Uggla’s bat practically defied the laws of physics as it stood straight on home plate waiting patiently for the slugging second baseman to return to the batter’s box.
Unfortunately, no video evidence of Uggla’s bat trick exist, as both the Phillies and Marlins feed focused on some little kid who got the foul ball instead of the phenomenal Weeble Wobblin’ bat trick. So everyone thank beelove for capturing this incredible feat with that trusty digital camera of his.
The balancing act was actually eerily similar to Martin Prado’s wizardry from ‘07 against the Mets.

That’s the most impressive thing Uggla has done with a bat and it was an accident.
May 28th, 2009 at 2:07 pm
Pat the Bat used to stand his bat up all the time in the on deck circle (insert phallic joke here) while he was swinging the weighted one.

@Chris
Not quite the *most* impressive thing, but it’s up there.

May 28th, 2009 at 2:37 pm
wow, he’s so talented. except when it comes to playing defense in an all-star game.
May 28th, 2009 at 2:43 pm
Jordan, look on the bright side — if Uggla didn’t fuck up the All-Star game so bad, the WFC’s would’ve been celebrating their title at Tropicana Stadium. I can’t even picture that.

Wow… no one is at a RAYS game. Big Surprise. Remember last year, during the playoffs when all the bandwagoners were ringalinging their stupid fucking cowbells? Where’d they all go?
May 29th, 2009 at 9:29 am
phiphan, earlier this year i was comparing phils opening night tickets to the rays opening tickets. the cheapest phils tickets were standing room, approx 100-150. i found a rays ticket for 21 dollars first row outfield. i dont like taking digs at tampa cause i love clearwater, but their fans are somethin else. their stadium this year looks just like it did last year. not a very ‘ringing’ endorsement
