Hummer, just because you don’t know how to use a computer doesn’t mean you’re a dick.

No clue then Hummer.

Thanks for all this Meech. I don’t even know why I have a Phillies Blog. This is the only one anyone needs to come to. Howard and Raul back to back jacks. 8-4 Phils.

I saw this vid when they first played it earlier today, and I’m not going to lie, it brought tears to my eyes. He will be sorely missed.

Lidge made the game interesting as always today, but he got the Save, and the Phils win 9-8.
I like to think that Harry is smiling somewhere.
April 13th, 2009 at 6:18 pm
Couldn’t help but shed a few tears as I watched this. Thank you Harry

Post-game, it was impossible for me to watch Barkann without tearing up.
April 13th, 2009 at 6:40 pm
Can anyone please post the final homerun call of Matt Stairs homerun sunday night? I really need to hear it.
April 13th, 2009 at 7:09 pm
Thanks, Harry.
April 13th, 2009 at 8:15 pm
In case anyone didn’t know, they’re playing Harry’s last game on CSN right now. I don’t even think they’re going to commercials.
April 13th, 2009 at 8:20 pm
Somebody has to post the opening to post game live on csn today. Barkan could not have put it any better. This man was the voice of summer.
April 13th, 2009 at 10:21 pm

It took awhile to find, but here is a poem excerpted from harry’s Hall of Fame speech. It is easy to see why we loved him so much. He loved us right back.
This is to the Philadelphia Fan
To Laud your passion as best I can
Your loyalty is unsurpassed
Be the Fightins in first or last
We come to the park each day
Looking forward to another fray
Because we know you’ll be there
We know you really care
You give the opposing pitcher fits
Because as one loyalist shouts, “Everybody hits”
To be sure in Philly, there might be some boos
Because you passionate fans, like the manager, hate to lose
Your reaction to the action on the field that you impart
Spurs us as broadcasters to call the game with enthusiasm and heart
We feel your passion through and through
Philadelphia fans, I love you.

I see some scumbags on facebook already selling shirts offering 10% of the profits to go to a charity… Really, only 10% to charity for a $24 shirt…
April 13th, 2009 at 11:43 pm
Just more people looking to capitalize off of a tragic death monetarily. I, personally, am making my own Harry shirt and jsut got my hat personalized for him. Check it out here:

Be sure to “Thank” FOXsports for passing up an opportunity of lifetime to have a father & son call a World Series together. Harry Kalas was like having your father call it just for you. Now with both Harry and my father gone, I don’t think I can watch the Phillies the same way ever again.

Goosebumps up my spine, water in my eyes and the joys of Philly baseball in the life and voice of Harry Kalas. He was not family, he was no personal friend, but he was the one who voiced the emotion of the whole city. Through that monumental and modest deed, he will be forever loved. We will miss ya, Harry K.
April 14th, 2009 at 1:53 am
I want a Harry T shirt too. I miss him so much already, the rest of this season will be strange without him. Jayson Stark said it best when he said that we will always imagine what Harry would’ve said for every big play for the rest of the Phillies seasons.
April 14th, 2009 at 2:43 am
I haven’t cried so hard in quite some time. I keep thinking I’ll be able to turn on the next Phils broadcast and hear his voice. It’s just like losing a family member.
The song rings true when they sing “you don’t know what you got til it’s gone” and I still can’t bring myself to comprehend that Harry Kalas, the man who brought me up on baseball, will never call another pitch again. Miss him dearly already. His work will never be duplicated.
Jayson Stark put it very well when he said “the void that is left in the hearts of Phillies fans today is unimaginable.” I keep thinking he will be there the next time the Fightins take the field. Your mind just becomes so used to having that voice in your living room every night from April to September and without it, baseball just won’t be the same.
He will be missed more than anyone will ever be able to put into words….RIP Harry. I miss you already and thank you for all of the memories you gave me and the rest of this city.

GregD, I feel the same way. I lost a friend who never even knew me.
April 14th, 2009 at 12:51 pm
I don’t know about everyone else, but without Harry calling the Phillies games, it feels as if summer was cancelled. Rest well, Harry, you’ll never be forgotten.
