Brad Lidge Is Closing Everything In The Tri-State Area

So far this year, Brad (Know the) Lidge is truly living up to his “Lights out” moniker.
In 24 appearances, the Phillies closer is 1-0 with 14 saves in as many opportunities, an almost 3-to-1 K/BB ratio, a sub-1.00 ERA, and the most devastating slider you’ve seen since John Smoltz had a full head of hair.
Now he’s taking his closing duty outside the baseball world and into the Nissan dealership in Woodbury, NJ.

Sure, but you should see the deal that Pujols got on his Nissan.

That dealership is right around the corner from me… prior to having Lidge as a spokesman it looked like their best promotion was giving away free hot dogs to all prospective buyers. I can’t tell you how many times I rode my bike through there as a teen to get a free hot dog.

NEVER underestimate the power of free (or dollar) hot dogs.

Far better than those Mike Richards commercials, that’s for sure.
We need a Philly version of those Eastern Motors commercials in DC with Clinton Portis.

Those Eastern Motors commericials were great! I saw Carmelo Anthony and Kevin Jones in one. Neither of them are D.C. athletes, which I always thought was weird. Anyway, those commericals looked like they were filmed with a home video camera.

So Brad Lidge makes hitters swing at bad pitches. Does this mean he makes people buy cars with bad deals?

Carmelo is from Baltimore, which is still within the Eastern Motors geographic reach.
Kevin Jones on the other hand, I don’t want to talk about (still bitter about his PSU –> Va Tech jersey screwjob)

For the record… lamest Harry Kalas impression ever.

I think that was Joe Conklin doing the impression…it kinda sounded like him

Tartan69, I was bitter until Kevin Jones senior year…when Larry Johnson ran for >2000 yards. I think we won out on that one – but the slap in the face still stings. Fuck ‘im. Think tho – if KJ would have gone to PSU, they would have just added another to the list of PSU RB’s to bust in the NFL. Long live KENNY WATSON!!!!

Billy Wagner was fired because he used to blame the customers when they didn’t buy.

It’s too bad the roster changed from ‘07-’08. They could have had Wes Helms manning a mop in the background, and then subsequently falling and having it jab him in the groin.

The Eastern motors spots with Biz Markie and Lavar Arrington were the best…I haven’t seen better local car commercials than those. The complete opposite would be that West German BMW spot with Richards… spooky.
