As you can see from this beautiful screenshot, Ryan Howard and the Fightin’ Phils put on a hitting clinic in St. Louis last night. The result was a 20-2 drubbing of the Cardinals.
It was also the second time this season the Phillies have scored 20 runs (May 26 vs. Rockies was the other). According to the scholars over at Elias Sports Bureau, it is the first time a team has scored 20 runs twice in a season since 1900. Howard chimes in,
“Did I know that? I know it now,” Howard said. “Fun tidbits of information.”

“Playing before family and friends is relaxing to me,” Howard said.
Maybe the Phillies should think about bringing them in for every game? Just a thought.

I hate Brett Myers. He’s Adam Eaton. And Adam Eaton is… well, not Brett Myers, because Adam Eaton has shown an acceptable level of competence this season.

Agreed with the Meyers assessment – it’s either a no-hitter going into the 7th, or 5 home runs from minor league call-ups with an extra pair of chromosomes. Where’s the consistency?
You can’t even delegate him to the ‘pen because they’re the best in the majors and we don’t want him Fucking it up.
I say give Durbin a chance and have Meyers miss a start…I promise he’ll get his head OUT OF HIS ASS.
