I’ve said it more tonight than any other time, but I love this team. The fact that they can do this when the chips are down, and you expect it, makes them so good and fun to watch.
October 20th, 2009 at 2:02 am
AWESOME
October 20th, 2009 at 2:05 am
does Dutch even know what’s going on?
October 20th, 2009 at 2:06 am
That needs to be sliced recut and played forever … “THATS WINNING THE GAME!!!!”"
October 20th, 2009 at 2:09 am
Barkann is a negative nancy… dutch is the man with his weird ass combovers. Ricky is a stubborn 4 year old… Best post-game crew anyone could ever ask for!
October 20th, 2009 at 2:09 am
I didn’t know bottalico had that much emotion before that. Thats almost as awesome as watching the actual hit.
October 20th, 2009 at 2:09 am
I love those guys! I love this team! This is great! Thanks for posting this Meech, when I was hitting the Broad Street line home, the only thing that bummed me out was that I couldn’t watch CSN Postgame Live. Awesome!
October 20th, 2009 at 2:10 am
dude, this an amazing team, no one ever gives them a chance yet they continue to prove the critics and skeptics wrong, this team is scary good
also, the bandwagon is rather large now, i hope we dont turn in to boston after they won two world series
October 20th, 2009 at 2:12 am
dutch is just watching the balloon boy go around and around and around inside his head
October 20th, 2009 at 2:15 am
Where’s the emotion, Dutch?
October 20th, 2009 at 2:19 am
who won? wait, what? where am I?
October 20th, 2009 at 2:20 am
Dutch just looks confused as hell.
John, I agree. I go to college near D.C. and I see Phils stuff everywhere nowadays. Way more people than I saw at the start of last year’s playoffs. Ugh. I feel like I have to start yelling Doug Glanville’s stats or talk about Robert Person’s grand slam or something for people to know I’m not a bandwagoner. It sucks.
October 20th, 2009 at 2:32 am
No seriously. Where the fuck am I?
October 20th, 2009 at 2:33 am
I’d rather be a winner & have bandwagon fans than be a loser & have only “real” fans.
The “fans” that left after the 8th tonight, though, should never be allowed in the park again. It was awesome how no one wanted to leave after Jimmy’s hit tonight! Everytime I think “this is the best game I ever attended”, they play the next game. Amazing!
October 20th, 2009 at 2:35 am
Every single part of this win is classic. Every highlight, every clip of the broadcasters and every reaction!
I love it…and I love you all. Thank you, Phillies!
October 20th, 2009 at 2:39 am
Fucking Dutch man.
October 20th, 2009 at 2:42 am
Go easy on Dutch. I was talking his ear off while that was happening.
October 20th, 2009 at 5:06 am
I love hearing the cheers in the background from the off camera peeps.
October 20th, 2009 at 7:40 am
I love how the video is titled “PGL Hosts Watch The Final OUT” – which never happened. Ha ha ha! Unbelievable game and team. Last night we went over the hump: 6 down and 5 to go.
October 20th, 2009 at 8:00 am
Dutch thought he made that game winning hit
October 20th, 2009 at 8:04 am
Please get Franzke’s call up here yet again. His calls are becoming as legendary as the heroics the team pulls off. Was there last night. Un-fuckin-believable. For anyone who left early…..shame on you.
October 20th, 2009 at 8:07 am
Sorry, just noticed the video before this one with Franzke’s call. Shame on me.
October 20th, 2009 at 8:25 am
Like how Dutch kept his emotions intact, like the cool cat he is
October 20th, 2009 at 8:30 am
“This team is incredible!” This is way too funny. I don’t think anyone wants to see a video of themselves celebrating.
-Embarrassing it is Michael B.
October 20th, 2009 at 8:37 am
Dutch was watching a trailer for Where The Wild Things Are.
October 20th, 2009 at 8:42 am
If anyone can post a link to Vin Scullys final call of this game, its epic. He describes what happens in an almost deadpan manner, and then he just says nothing. Its just the sound of the crowd going insane for a few minutes. It was on 610 this morning.
I was there last night, and for those folks who think people left their seats, maybe they did, but it was only to go down to the concourse to watch the final inning. The concourse was 5-6 people deep all the way around. My dad and I went into Harry the K’s and watched from the railing…much better than 2nd the last row from the top! Amazing.
October 20th, 2009 at 8:57 am
LOL Ricky Bo DOES sound like an excited 4 year old. I love it!
October 20th, 2009 at 8:58 am
top 3 reasons i love this year’s playoffs
1) Phillies keep shoving their greatness in media/announcers faces
2) Chan Ho’s Beard
3) Pre/Post game with Dutch
October 20th, 2009 at 9:03 am
I think I caught an STD from hugging so many people at the game last night
October 20th, 2009 at 9:05 am
James Fayleez – I agree.. Bringing back Dutch (for the entertainment factor) has even made this October run more special
October 20th, 2009 at 9:24 am
Dutch actually calls it right off the bat by saying “Got him!”
October 20th, 2009 at 9:27 am
WE ARE PLAYING PHILLIES FEVER IN OUR OFFICE ON A LOOP FOR THE NEXT HOUR
October 20th, 2009 at 9:35 am
I want an animated gif of Dutch’s unenthusiastic high five. It’s so awesome.
October 20th, 2009 at 9:40 am
Can only imagine how Dutch acts when he’s intoxicated
October 20th, 2009 at 10:07 am
Send this jacktard an email t.j.simers@latimes.com
his comments in today’s LA Times:
“…these fans as ugly as any in the country.”
“Nowhere in America are people more angry than those living here”
now that is top notch journalism.
Hey T.J. – wear it, wear it, suck on it.
October 20th, 2009 at 10:08 am
I really hope Dutch is here for the long haul. The guy is a God. Probably literally.
October 20th, 2009 at 10:12 am
Lay of Dutchie. Knowing the world is going to end in just over 2 years weighs heavily on the mind. So does setting an auction price for a World Series ring.
October 20th, 2009 at 10:14 am
this was pretty much waht was going on at my house last night. except with alot more jumping and waving home of chooch haha
October 20th, 2009 at 10:23 am
I was sitting on my couch at my place in south philly – as soon as Jimmy hit the ball and the camera went to the gap, I screamed BALLGAAAAAAAAAAME and my non-sports roommate woke up and came downstairs to see what the hell was going on
this win was ALMOST on the same level as the phils takin it all last year. I think I crapped my pants a little bit
October 20th, 2009 at 10:32 am
Bill Plasche on Game #5
“And if Broxton gets back into the game, no doubt, Stairs will be somewhere in the darkness, waiting.”
October 20th, 2009 at 10:34 am
@minty I just read that. He also grouped us with yankees fans. I guess living in LA has gotten to him. He’d much rather have the fans show up late and leave early.

“L.A. hasn’t seen this much brutality since Rodney King” – Ryan Converse
October 20th, 2009 at 10:40 am
i had to celebrate last night with my dog. my wife and baby were upstairs asleep. my dog and i replicated the phils pile on. i think i sustained an injury…
October 20th, 2009 at 10:47 am
I’m not mad at TJ Simers. He was the guy who asked Manny where we got the idea that he took steroids.
He can call us d1ckheads for all I care. One more game and we’re back in the WS.
October 20th, 2009 at 10:49 am
Simers is the worst….they need to dump his stupid ass into one of those wildfires.
October 20th, 2009 at 10:53 am
That Simers doushe wrote all the same shit last year…the guy is like their version of Conlin, but even more pissed off at the world. He kept calling us Angryville and all of that good stuff. It doesn’t really bother me because everyone across the country can see what our stadium’s atmosphere is like compared to theirs. It’s a joke to suggest that somehow LA’s fans are more classy than ours. Although I will say that just like our team, I am starting to get a little cocky swagger.
October 20th, 2009 at 11:00 am
Maybe if MLB could start these games at 7pm, people could stay to watch the final innings. (they’re likely not leaving b/c they don’t believe, it’s b/c they have to work in the AM.
October 20th, 2009 at 11:04 am
This blog makes me so happy.

Phils continually get little respect…
Hey MLB.com – wear it, wear it. Suck on it!!!!!
October 20th, 2009 at 11:11 am
I am so high off last night. I feel like I’ve done a whippit the size of the Superdome!!!!!!!!
October 20th, 2009 at 11:12 am
Speaking of writers, I think if I were a fan of any other team I’d want to stab Jayson Stark.
October 20th, 2009 at 11:13 am
Joe D, Go to the Jetro lot aka and i’m sure you can find plenty that size…..
October 20th, 2009 at 11:17 am
aka Whippit City or The Rape Lot
October 20th, 2009 at 11:18 am
I jumped out of my sweatshirt and phils cap watching at home & ran back and forth yelping like a Jonas Brothers fan. Unreal.
October 20th, 2009 at 11:33 am
I’ve definitely never been hugged by so many random dudes as I was in Harry the Ks last night
October 20th, 2009 at 11:43 am
i’m so jealous
October 20th, 2009 at 11:53 am
Nil,
Come on….never?…really?
October 20th, 2009 at 12:06 pm
ooooo the wolf pack mentioned our fan group
http://www.philly.com/inquirer/sports/20091020_Mixed_emotions_for_Wolf_Pack.html
October 20th, 2009 at 12:35 pm
I watched this last night when they played it toward the end of PGL. Ricky Bo just kept saying how embarassed he was watching himself, but i thought it was awesome. You can see their faces (not Dutch’s) go from Loss to WTF WIN!
Franzke’s call of that hit is his best yet. It build and builds. LA and Sarge throw a party in the back.
October 20th, 2009 at 12:40 pm
People leaving because “they have work the next morning” is crap.
This isn’t April. This is the 8th inning of a postseason game. The 8th inning of a postseason game for a team that has been specializing in sucker punching opposing pitchers when they’re down to the last pitch of the last out and conventional Negadelphia wisdom says they should be rolling over and dying. This is the 8th inning of a postseason game that got this team within one win of going back to the World F. Series again. Yeah, the past couple of years have been awesome, but in the grand scheme of things, this shit doesn’t happen too often around here. You’ve already stuck it out to 11:15, 11:30. What’s 20 more minutes, really?
October 20th, 2009 at 12:42 pm
I just want you to know I have watched this at least 50 times this morning. That is all.
October 20th, 2009 at 12:43 pm
It’s a shame he couldn’t have gone “Oppo Boppo!”, but i’ll take it.
October 20th, 2009 at 12:44 pm
anybody else see this:

October 20th, 2009 at 12:49 pm
Jason I think you’re the last person in Philadelphia to see that.
October 20th, 2009 at 12:51 pm
don’t worry jason, i was about the 3rd to last person to see it….
October 20th, 2009 at 1:04 pm
This is from the philly paper: “Got an e-mail from a dad who, sadly, prevented his son from bringing the following sign to the park: “My mom uses the same fertility drugs as Manny. I wouldn’t be here without them – neither would he.”" that would have been a good sign.
October 20th, 2009 at 1:11 pm
Congrats to J.A. Happ. 2009 Sporting News Rookie of the Year.
October 20th, 2009 at 1:26 pm
@Kleck: personal experiences in the Jetro lot, eh?
October 20th, 2009 at 1:39 pm
Happ ROY!!! Young Happ bitches.
October 20th, 2009 at 1:58 pm
I heart Ricky Bo.
Dutch left his brain with the aliens.
October 20th, 2009 at 2:08 pm
How bout Uncle Cholly calling Jimmy’s shot?
October 20th, 2009 at 2:09 pm
One more win and these idiots out here in LA will finally shut up (again!).
October 20th, 2009 at 2:09 pm
0:11 is why we have to love Ricky Bo. he loves us
October 20th, 2009 at 2:15 pm
Can’t even count how many times I’ve watched this clip today.
I wonder if they are aware of how much this clip has made it around the internet today, haha!
October 20th, 2009 at 2:38 pm
Confirming our hatred of Kobe Bryant…
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/33362371
October 20th, 2009 at 2:48 pm
@ Fightins
You’re about 5 days late. Kobe sucks though
October 20th, 2009 at 2:49 pm
@will I’ve been looping from the “YES IT IS!! YEEEAAAH!” I love the emotion. I’m surprised he could even form words.
October 20th, 2009 at 2:51 pm
@outlaw…that msnbc article was just posted 2 hours ago? I commented many days ago as well when we were venting our hatred of Kobe, but just put the link up because I thought it was a good article…
October 20th, 2009 at 2:52 pm
Seriously Fightins, who gives a fuck which baseball team Kobe likes?
I heard Sidney Crosby like the Cowboys. I hate him so bad now.
WTF?
October 20th, 2009 at 2:55 pm
@James, I think that article sums it up best:
“our estranged native-son Bryant”
Don’t you get it? There’s supposed to be a bond amongst Philadelphias, both former and current. You don’t turn your back on this city, you just don’t.
October 20th, 2009 at 3:04 pm
Actually now that I’ve watched it a bunch of times I think my favorite part is Dutch’s quiet “got him” right at the beginning. Of course, he knew it was coming: with his ability to walk between realities he just traveled to one where the NLCS was already over…
October 20th, 2009 at 3:07 pm
Did someone say ice cream?!?!
http://img62.imageshack.us/img62/925/chooch.jpg
October 20th, 2009 at 3:15 pm
I think Dutch was quiet because he was telepathically receiving messages from the mothership.
October 20th, 2009 at 3:15 pm
Woot! Woot!
October 20th, 2009 at 3:17 pm
This is awesome!!! I love Ricky Bos reaction! What was he watching? He looked like he was watching the table.
October 20th, 2009 at 3:22 pm
@Amanda….Ricky Bo has a great fondness for tables.
October 20th, 2009 at 3:25 pm
Here are some reasons why this is such a great feeling
1. Tbs showing the dodgers dugout every 10 secs
2. Phillies dominating the series and all we hear about is the dodgers
3. Everytime a dodgers comes to the plate we get a replay from the regular season of them at bat.
4. Either coming up to bat early in the game everytime hes at bat and hearing how he’s good because he had a walkoff in the regular season.
And so much more…man does this just feel so good!
October 20th, 2009 at 4:02 pm
@J Dubs (post #42)
That was my original facebook status, attributed to my friend! I know a couple of my friends stole it from me, but how far has this thing gotten? That’s awesome.
October 20th, 2009 at 5:34 pm
Does anyone have the full rip of last nights game including postgame? I would love to get it.. all my friends said i was on tv at the end but i never know, as my cable went out up in north jersey..
October 20th, 2009 at 6:19 pm
Can someone put this in slow-motion with the slow-mo audio like the McCarthy/Sarge clip during the phils/mets fan fight earlier this year?
October 20th, 2009 at 11:19 pm
Oh my godd, ricky bo is so amazing. Love how he looks up at Barkann like he’s about to slice his head off in the heat of the moment–
THATS GONNA WIN THE GAME!
(no way)
THATS WINNIN THE GAME!!
(no way)
..
THATS WINNIN TH-
(no way)
YES IT IS!!! YAAAAAAAHHHHHH!!!
October 21st, 2009 at 12:07 am
I am obsessed with this. I have watched it probably 20 times and still laugh.
October 21st, 2009 at 1:22 am
Saw this and loved it…. via wikipedia
He now serves as an analyst on Phillies Post Game Live alongside former teammate Ricky Bottalico. During the 2009 NLCS he correctly predicted that Ryan Howard would hit a home run in his 2nd at bat the following day.
In the bottom of the 9th of game 4 of the series Bottalico and the host can seen reacting to the game winning hit with great excitement, Dutch stays motionless and mute through the entire event. He already had seen it happen.
October 21st, 2009 at 10:22 am
Dutch was on My Fox Philly this morning. They asked him about how the Phillies would fare and he started spinning about the end of the world…
October 21st, 2009 at 12:48 pm
i might have been the only person in the world who actually read daultons book(but when your named after the nutbag i guess i had to read it) if anyone else has read his book and understood anything about it, please let me know
October 24th, 2009 at 12:33 am
Here’s a fresh link if you need it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=crEP8-HBsZE
I think I’ve watched this about 100 times.
