A.J. Burnett Learned Everything He Knows From Tomas Perez

Once upon a time, A.J. Burnett was an impressionable young pitcher on the Florida Marlins. During his time in the NL East, he was exposed to the celebratory ways of the other teams in his division. Specifically — the Phillies, and even more specifically — Tomas Perez. You see, A.J. has a “brand new” gimmick this year where he seeks out the hero of any particular Yankees game that they happen to win and shoves a towel filled with shaving cream in their face. In baseball circles, it’s known as “the pie”.
And A.J. Burnett blatantly stole that move from the originator — TOMAS PEREZ.

I dont know about you guys, but I still feel rerally good about this. To be honest, I didnt expect to win this game. I watch this team so much that I notice patterns. Werth falling asleep at 1st base really got the ball rolling and the Yankees rode that momentum the rest of the game. Seeing the Yankees celebrate that double play the way they did (would you see Jimmy, Chase and Ryan doing that?) you can tell that a WHOLE lot of pressure came off their shoulders. Theyre feeling the heat a little right now, and I feel like we can ride that once we get back to home field. We came and took what we wanted, a split. It stings now, but come Saturday, its all good fellas. Dont sweat it too much, were in good shape.
