October 28th, 2009 at 3:37 pm
Along those lines, but yet, just the opposite!

If this were facebook, I’d hit the “Like” button so hard.
October 28th, 2009 at 3:59 pm
I saw this last night, and totally forgot about it. No wonder why that guy likes CC so much. Or, is it C.C.?
October 28th, 2009 at 4:15 pm
all signs point to new yorkers being douchebags… oh yeah and the phils are gonna win
October 28th, 2009 at 4:19 pm
Think Jeter could get me a ticket?
October 28th, 2009 at 4:21 pm
Yeah the biggest loser with 4 World Series rings in 13 years. How many have the Phillies won in 126 years? TWO! 2 world series championships in a century and a quarter. I’ll do the math for you that’s one every 63 years. That means you can be born a Phillies fan and if you don’t live to 64, you might not see a world series championship. Your Ryan Howard story is about a fat guy who’s trying to stay thin. AHAHAHA now that is perfect.
October 28th, 2009 at 4:35 pm
I may be in the minority here, but if the Phillies had twenty-six World Series championships I’d probably be a little more secure in my baseball-self that I wouldn’t be trolling around the internet posting about our twenty-six championships as if I was trying to convince myself of something.
I may also be in the minority with this two, but being ya know, like an adult with a very full life, I feel that I could live to be like 120 years old and if the team I followed never won a championship, I’d still be better off than the sort of dickhead who lives in their mother’s basement in Clifton, NJ and lives vicariously through a Derek Jeter bobblehead and misheard stories about George Steinbrenner.
Bill Murray may never see a Cubs championship in his whole entire life but he was a mother flippin’ Ghostbuster and you post on the internet bragging about the 1950’s.
October 28th, 2009 at 4:37 pm
Let’s. Fucking. Play. Ball.
October 28th, 2009 at 4:38 pm
Chase Mutley you are awesome
October 28th, 2009 at 4:39 pm
I would trade a WFC to be a Ghostbuster…I think?
Do – Ray – Bay Slugga (Sorry Egon)
October 28th, 2009 at 4:39 pm
Game 2 will probably be something like this:

October 28th, 2009 at 4:46 pm
Too bad he’s far greater of a player and person than anyone on the Phillies will ever be.
October 28th, 2009 at 4:49 pm
Chase Mutley you ARE the man.
October 28th, 2009 at 4:49 pm
Yea, too bad.
October 28th, 2009 at 4:51 pm
Jdash,
..embarrassing if that is actually gonna be Zimmer again in game two..
..if Zimmer represents A-Roid’s futility at the plate, then bravo.
October 28th, 2009 at 4:59 pm
ChaseMutley, Being here is to f*ck with you. Has nothing to do with “being secure”. I’ve been to 4 parades for the Yankees and 1 for the Mets, throw in 3 Giants, a Rangers, 4 Islanders, etc.
Clifton, NJ??? See us people up here in the North have this thing we call “A Job”. It’s a place we drive to and sit at a desk and do stuff for a company and get paid. My IP Address is not my home IP Address. That would be a FIOS NYC IP Address.
I guess that makes you the sort of dickhead that sits in a roach infested Philly apartment and looks up people’s ip address to sound learned?
October 28th, 2009 at 5:03 pm
how can i achieve learned
is that like “hi my name is yankeesrule, i have the herp therfore im fucked.’
and how old do you have to be to say yankeesrule! c’mon playground warrior
October 28th, 2009 at 5:05 pm
Learned, like you will become learned to the fact that the Yankees are the greatest sports franchise ever.
October 28th, 2009 at 5:06 pm
“4 Islanders”
who?
October 28th, 2009 at 5:07 pm
I think its nice that Yankees fans are proud of their team’s history, but they should try to keep their insults relevant. I’m not sure why it matters that the Phillies have only won two World Series in the past 126 years. Other than Jamie Moyer, I don’t think any of the current Phillies were playing on that 1883 squad.
It’s not going to be the 1927 Yankees taking the field tonight, or the 1961 Yankees, or even the 1998 Yankees. It’s going to be the 2009 Yankees vs. the 2009 Phillies (who, by the way, have won one World Series in the past one year).
October 28th, 2009 at 5:07 pm
We learn that the instant we are born in no particular order (e.g. breathe, it’s cold, crying, the Yankees rule) Some of us have done more crying then others (e.g. Phillies fans, Mets fans).
October 28th, 2009 at 5:09 pm
He goes to Yankees parades and Mets parades, now THAT is a real fan.
October 28th, 2009 at 5:09 pm
Mongolian Grill then Game 1.
October 28th, 2009 at 5:12 pm
OutlawPete, you know the team that smacked the old Flyers into retirement?
October 28th, 2009 at 5:12 pm
I rooted for the Mets to beat the Red Sox. Damn right thats a fan.
October 28th, 2009 at 5:13 pm
Shouldn’t you be at the Islanders-Rangers game tonight, since you’re such a huge fan of both teams?
October 28th, 2009 at 5:15 pm
yankeesrule, i want to read your guide on how to become an elitist. the greed of NY ruined our country, now you’re going to smear a philly blog with your stale personality?
October 28th, 2009 at 5:16 pm
I am going to do everything in my power ensure a Phillies win. For instance, it’s bad luck to fap the day of the game – I think I can hold out. Wearing any Birdland garment is also great luck.
October 28th, 2009 at 5:17 pm
Like the Yankees or hate the Yankees, I’m not sure how you can justify picking on Jeter. He doesn’t talk trash, he avoids controversy, he is a stand-up player and citizen, and one of the few athletes left who you can actually call a role model. Go pick on A-Rod, or Tex, or whoever..but ya gotta leave Jeter alone.
October 28th, 2009 at 5:20 pm
agreed ryan howard the yankees are a bunch of overpaid steroid thumping whiners, except for derek jeter, really a class act.
October 28th, 2009 at 5:34 pm
Any of your schmucks get the YES Network? You see the Philly fans dressed like HK…blue blazers and white loafers???
October 28th, 2009 at 5:38 pm
RR, if so, what would be wrong with that? no one makes fun of your dead icons.
October 28th, 2009 at 5:38 pm
A little over two hours to go.
October 28th, 2009 at 5:41 pm
HA! I only guessed at Clifton, NJ! That’s so awesome that I was right!
See, the reason I said Clifton, NJ is because I actually work at one of your fancy “up North” jobs building websites that the local population was too busy putting neon lights on the bottom of their car to learn how to do. I am the only product of Philadelphia, even with it’s Ivy League University, who has a job though. The whole entire city! Can you believe that?! No one in Philly works. We pay all of our bills with the good vibes coming from Trenton and Camden.
Thank you for sharing your parade stories. They were cute and I’m sure it was a blast sitting on your boyfriend’s shoulders so Sean Landeta knew that it was YOU who was the biggest fan.
October 28th, 2009 at 5:48 pm
+20 to Chase Mutley.
You got any lotto number recommendations?
October 28th, 2009 at 5:48 pm
how devoid of meaning is your life that you feel compelled to go to a phillies blog and post vapid and meat-headed comments over and over and over?
will.H hit the nail on the head: it’s empty elitism, kind of pitifully juvenile, and it’s really getting boring.
/yawn
October 28th, 2009 at 5:54 pm
Anyone know where I can get a Placido Polanco Phillies jersey?
October 28th, 2009 at 6:00 pm

The reason they keep showing up is that we keep responding to their inanity. There is never going to be an intelligent dialogue with these types who have no respect for the game.
October 28th, 2009 at 6:01 pm
look at that…just a few mins after 6:00 pm. The top of the 1st will be over in 2 hours from now.
October 28th, 2009 at 6:02 pm
I’m expecting a live blog by Gonzo tonight. Nothing but the best.
October 28th, 2009 at 6:03 pm
SarahKNUCKLEUP,
Yet, you find it a necessity to respond. Ironic.
October 28th, 2009 at 6:05 pm
@dlhunter: Someone needs to have a live blog. Tradition demands it.
October 28th, 2009 at 6:05 pm
you’re placido polonco… you figure it out.
October 28th, 2009 at 6:07 pm
I just love this Yankees fan that post on here, I wonder if he goes on Nomaas and faps to their material when he gets done asserting his “Superiority” on here.
October 28th, 2009 at 6:07 pm

October 28th, 2009 at 6:07 pm

is anybody watching mlb network? they interviewed pat gillick and kept referring to the phillies as “his team” since he drafted so many of the players that are now playing prominent roles
that’s pretty close except he drafted exactly 0 players who are on the active roster, if memory serves me
October 28th, 2009 at 6:12 pm
haha, nice try weatherman. false info rules
October 28th, 2009 at 6:16 pm
i hate mlb network especially this harold character. nothing nice to say about philly. i would not be watching if not for the phils batting practice and something to hold me over until 7:57pm est.
October 28th, 2009 at 6:27 pm

October 28th, 2009 at 6:35 pm
Hey guys, I’m really sorry for all those things I said. I especially apologize to Chase Mutley. The reason I’m on this blog and commenting irrelevant stuff is because I’m really nervous because I know how good the Phillies are. They aren’t even close to being a potent as the Angels or Twins (hah). Sorry everyone. I’ll leave now, plus my mom’s here to pick me up. Enjoy the series.

October 28th, 2009 at 6:47 pm
No, Outlaw Pete. I took me 7 seconds to type that. But I’ll tell you what did take two minutes to do; click on your name, realize your website sucks balls and that your last 7 posts generated exactly 0 (ZERO) comments. After that, I came back to this site, and typed this with 45 seconds to spare. Word.
