How did Derek Lowe end up in this position you ask? Allow me to explain…
Victorino was down in the count 1-2, forcing him to be in defensive mode at the plate. On the next pitch Vic shot the ball directly back up the middle and straight towards Lowe’s gooch. Here is the ball actually looking like he crapped it out:

Yea that has to be unpleasant. Shortly after, he ended up giving up a solo homer to Chase Effin’ Utley. Goes to show a man just can’t take a hit like that to the ole’ taint. But to Shane’s credit he gave Lowe a little “Sorry about your gooch” pat on the back on his way back to the dugout:

What a nice guy…

the only thing that comes to mind right now is mel allen saying, “how ’bout that!” when this is showed as a TWIB highlight.

We just want to commend you for your incorporation of the word Gooch into a post. Awesome.

An FTM guarantee- Chris Wheeler says “gooch” within the next week. As in, “he’s gotta watch out for his gooch right there,” or “have you ever seen jose reyes’s gooch? I have.”

Shane patting him on the back was hilarious.

If Wheeler says gooch I will take full responsibility for educating him on the term.

I concur with 4daysrest.com, its also good to see a Gooch tag. It was inevitable at some point anyway.

I thought for a second Tad Iguchi was back on the team, and I was extremely happy because it meant the Garden Gnome that is Eric Brunlett would be hitting the road.

I too was mislead by the “gooch” terminology thinking Tadahito Iguchi was back or something like that.

I got my Stump the Fans prize pack in the mail today. It contained a rally towel, a t-shirt that says “Champs” on the front (which was given away on opening day), and an irish green cap (which i think was given away on Irish heritage night).

I always thought it was gender specific-Taint was for a female, and a Grundle was for a male.

I loved the “sorry about your gooch” pat on the back Vic gave him. Priceless.

There’s a great band from Philly, called Kid Dynamite. They had a song on their first album called, “Never Met The Gooch”

Too bad the singer thought people liked his films, not the fact that they liked what he made a film about….
