It’s more polite than the WANTED: DEAD posters with a Carlos Ruiz mugshot I was planning on stapling to various telephone poles throughout Philadelphia.

Nah, this is even worse than anything the NAAAts could’ve pulled off: the Phillies are fielding major leaguers.

Fun fact: the Philadelphia field office of the FBI’s phone number is 215-418-4000. I got it on a WMD hotline card 8 years ago and still remember it.

ray,
A valid question, but I decided to focus on the 3-4-5 hitters who, if my math is correct, went a combined 0-for-87 Friday night.

Everyone would believe the Ruiz poster, and he’d end up dead within a week. I mean, not that I’m against that, but I doubt that Coste could play everyday at his age.

they didnt have a combined 87 ABs. they went a combined 0-13 on friday night

Looks like your math is wrong, Mister Davis.

At least Howard has raised his average to .240 over the past couple a month. Utley has plumetted nearly 100 points since his early season mid-300s surge.
I believe that Utley’s prettiness (not race) is giving him a free ride. Howard gets booed after many more successful seasons than Mr. Utley, and Chase still gets cheered after grounding into a bases loaded double play.
It’s all about being pretty folks; you can get away with anything if you’re easy on the eyes (now that’s enough of me talking about another man’s appearance).
Now, whose average will be higher when the season ends?
/eat that all you ‘Howard strikes out too much’ dumbasses

HDYSR,
Thankfully you did not add the obligatory “/No homo” tag after the part about Utley’s purtiness, as some commenters might do on another sports blog I can think of…
