Last night I made a pretty simple request, as seen above. Little did I know how easy the Mets would make this to happen on this particular night(see dmac post below). After the jump you can find out if this simple request was fulfilled by the Fightins faithful (the answer is yes).

Francisco Rodriguez totally punched his Father-in-law in the face. Right in the face. Normally I’d say “LOLMets” and move on but isn’t this really what all of us dream about doing? Like, I’m not married but every time I have a girlfriend I totally want to punch her Dad in the face. Has to be even worse if you are actually married. And on a shitty baseball team. And have a collection of pubes on your face. And have to watch David Wright strike out 4 times a game on the reg. And have to be managed by Jerry Manuel. And have the future of your team in the hands of Omar Minaya. And have two teammates who took gay photography together. And know that you’ll never have the ring the Phillies have.

That’s a lot to weigh on a guy, ya know? Good job K-Rod!

Oh, and he has to live with the fact that he has teammates who say things like this:

“Maybe [the domestic violence incident] is what we need.”

HA! Phylan put it best.

The Dodgers are coming to town and they are probably bringing Jonathan Broxton with them, which means you are likely to see a walk off hit/homer at some point. Also the Phillies have called Tony Bastard back up to the bigs so you can watch him strike the shit out of Andre Ethier, James Loney, Jay Gibbons(who?), and Scott Podsednik. Who wants to miss that?

Game 1: Kyle Kendrick vs. Vicente “Swine Flu” Padilla

Game 2: Roy Oswalt vs. Chad “Junk in the Trunk” Billingsley

Game 3: Joe Blanton vs. Clayton “Can’t really rip him cause he’s good” Kershaw

1:35PM on MyPHL17

PITCHING MATCHUP:

Roy Halladay (13-8) 2.17 ERA

PHILLIES: Halladay appears quite ready to demonstrate his value as the playoff races begin to heat up. The veteran right-hander believes any summer doldrums are behind him now and it looked that way as he continued his mastery of Florida on Tuesday.

RA Dickface (7-4) 2.36 ERA

LOLMETS: Relying on what he called guerrilla warfare, Dickey overcame wet and rainy conditions at Turner Field — a knuckleballer’s nightmare — to hold the Braves to two runs in six innings Tuesday. He shut out the Phillies over six innings back on May 25.

7:10PM on MyPHL17/MLB Network

PITCHING MATCHUP:

Cole Hamels (7-7) 3.56 ERA

PHILLIES: Hamels allowed four runs in seven innings Sunday against Washington, but he pitched much better than that. In fact, that was just the second time since April that he had allowed more than three earned runs in a start.

Blohan Santana (8-6) 3.20 ERA

LOLMETS: Some early struggles and iffy defense doomed Santana in Atlanta, where he took a loss Monday despite striking out a season-high 11 batters. More important was Santana’s run total — four in seven innings — which will have to go down in Philadelphia.
